Steak Pastry Filling

A splendid filling for savoury pastries, packed with flavour and perfect for picnics or Ramadhan snacks

Ingredients

  • 1kg tenderised rump steak cut into cubes
  • 2tsp crushed green chillies
  • 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp aromat
  • 1 tsp crushed dhania
  • 1 tsp crushed jeero
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp crushed red chillies
  • 1 tsp steak and chops spice
  • 1 tsp bbq spice
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp peri peri sauce
  • 2tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp ghee

Method

  1. Heat the oil and ghee in a pot
  2. Add the steaks and spices and cook for ½ hour
  3. Add the sauces and tomato paste and cook for further ½ hour
  4. Garnish with dhania when completely cold
