Peri Peri Chicken Pies Filling

A lovely filling for chicken pastries, quick and simple to make

Ingredients

  • 1kg chicken fillet cubed
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp ghee / oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 2 tsp fresh red ground chillies
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp ground jeeru
  • 4-5 tbsp tomato puree
  • ½ cup peri peri sauce
  • Salt and freshly chopped dhania
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce (optional)

Method

  1. Fry the onion until nearly brown
  2. Add the chicken, salt, turmeric, garlic paste and ground chillies. Allow to cook for a few minutes
  3. Add balance of the ingredients except the chilli sauce
  4. Do not dry or overcook the chicken
  5. Once cooked, add ½ the chilli sauce and the chopped dhania. Adjust the sauces to preference
